SRI Hurricane Preparation in the News!

CLICK HERE for ProJo story on volunteers needed for hurricane response.

As of 2:00 AM, EDT, federal and private weather forecasters are saying there is a good chance much of the east coast up through New England will get hit with gale-force winds, heavy rain, flooding and maybe even snow early next week through Halloween on Wednesday. It is too early to predict that there will be a need for post storm volunteers.

Serve Rhode Island will be monitoring reports and will be in contact with the RI Emergency Management Agency and VOAD to determine if and when volunteers will be needed. If the storm hits us, we want to be prepared to respond to needs in the community, whatever they may be.

Our volunteers during and in the aftermath of T.S. Irene were enormously helpful.

If you can be "on call" over the next five days to help in any way during or after a potentially damaging Sandy, please complete this on-line form so that we know how you might be able to help, should the need arise.

Please keep checking local news media for updates.
